I'd like to be able to tell you that the last month has been filled with a crazy amount of adventures but the sad truth is it's been pretty boring.
Highlights include....
- I deflated my air mattress -- Since my household goods arrived from Chicago without issue in late March I was able to deflate my air mattress. After three months on it I was almost tempted to host a goodbye party. I resisted and instead just did a "happy dance" just before I dived onto my pillow-top mattress that first night.
- Sold my Condo -- The buyer got a heck of a deal. Seriously the Chicago market has plunged in the last 2 months. I am now counting myself as part of the economic statistics making the headlines. You know "Average home prices down...."
- Injured my Knee -- About three weeks ago I was out on a long run and at mile 7 did something to mess up my knee. I struggled through two more miles but eventually had to call a cab to bring me home as I couldn't make it back.
- Ran a Mile Straight -- Its amazing to think that a month ago I ran a 1/2 marathon in 2:35. Amazing because I am now celebrating being able to run ONE mile straight. Its a small victory but it signals that the physical therapy and drugs I am taking are working for my knee. Let me just say that injuries are extremely humbling!
- Cabin Time -- I spent a short weekend at our family's cabin. I arrived just as Cooper was being reprimanded for tossing their new puppy into the lake. Poor dog was probably scarred for life. I mean there was still ice on the lake.
- Being an Adult -- I remember as a kid I thought it'd be oh so cool to be a grown-up. I think my idea of adulthood was a bit skewed. Seriously, who enjoys taking out the garbage, doing laundry and paying bills.
